There are places we leave behind, and places that never leave us.
For me, that place has always been Poland.
My name is Anna, and I grew up surrounded by the warmth, strength, and traditions of a community that shaped who I am. From an early age, I believed that mountains could be moved—if only we were willing to try.
Life carried me across the ocean in the year 2000. I built a new home in the United States, yet the flavors, customs, and spirit of my homeland remained alive within me—quietly calling me back to the kitchen, to the table, and to memory.
Over time, that calling grew into something bigger.
I created Surroundings Polish Pottery, a platform born from love, heritage, and a desire to bring the beauty of handmade Polish ceramics into American homes. What began as importing pottery slowly became something more—a living bridge between two cultures.
Every bowl, mug, and serving dish carries a story.
Every pattern whispers of seasons, feasts, and traditions passed from hand to hand.
The pottery was never just art.
It was always a vessel—for the foods we grew up with, the people we loved, and the moments we still treasure.
And so this book begins where everything meaningful begins:
at the table.
